MEET THE DIRECTORS
JACLYN SCHMEICHEL
Director of Concert Choir, Bel Canto and Freshman Choir
Jaclyn Schmeichel is in her third year as a music educator, and her third year at Burnsville High School in Burnsville, MN. She has directed four choirs: Freshmen Choir, Bel Canto, Concert Choir, and FreeStyle. Mrs. Schmeichel also teaches voice lessons and is the music director for Burnsville's musicals as well as the head director for Showcase, Burnsville's full-staged musical revue. Choirs under Mrs. Schmeichel's direction have been invited to perform with the Minnesota Valley Women's Chorale.
She graduated Valedictorian and Education Student of the Year with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from North Central University, where she studied under Larry Bach, Rebecca Norberg and Al Hawkins. She also earned a minor in Spanish and spent time living and teaching in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. She currently lives in Burnsville with her husband, Matt, who is a teacher and a percussionist.
